People, please be more thoughtful

Recently every time I turned on the TV, I would hear an advertisement begins with Sarah Mclachlan's Christmas song. The short film is describing how pitiful the abandoned pets are, going along with Sarah Mclachlan's sad speaking about these animals. The aim here is to make people donate money to help these animals.

It's insane to me. Why not ask people to donate money to help the species that are dieing out? Search the web: "3 species die out every hour!" You don't even have time to take a picture of them! To me, as a biologist, losing one species means losing a variety of DNA collection/genome created by nature, means losing an opportunity to understand the world.

It's insane to me. Poor people all around the world are dying of hunger, but we went on to collect money to help these helpless pets. Search the web: " One billion people in the world suffer from hunger and malnutrition. About 24,000 people die every day from hunger or hunger-related causes. " What about these starving people? Actually mice and rat are very lovely as well, and have been definitely abandoned and more than abused by people, why not go ahead to collect some money to help these rodents as well?

People, think more about it, don't misuse your kind-heartness. Don't mislead others as well.
